Courtyard as Climate Infrastructure
What changes when the courtyard is treated not as leftover open space, but as part of the building's environmental system? This study examines shade, porosity, vegetation, sectional depth and circulation as architectural variables that mediate climate and everyday occupation.

Architecture is often described through what is built. Yet some of its strongest spatial effects come from what is deliberately withheld: direct sun, immediate views and instant transitions. Shade can be designed as deliberately as stone, glass or concrete.
